The Opportunity

Join at a pivotal moment in our transformation journey. As Vice President, Data, you will be instrumental in reshaping the client into a digitally‑empowered, data‑driven organization, both in terms of how we operate and who we are for our clients. This is a rare opportunity to build a data platform, culture, and suite of products from the ground up within a complex, regulated, and growth‑oriented financial services environment.

You will lead a modestly‑sized high‑impact team, building a data ecosystem and championing data‑led decision making and operational excellence across the firm. Delivering on your mandate will necessitate excellent peer relationships, including with the heads of Business Platforms, AI, Engineering, IT Operations, Governance and Program Delivery, all of whose collaboration will be needed to achieve the business outcomes. Your work will enable our business and institutional clients to benefit from the full potential of data, as we refresh our technology leadership and corporate strategy.

In the role, you will be supported by technology leadership development training, dedicated access to research and consulting resources, and coaching on stage presence. Additionally, you will have access to the company’s extensive learning and development resources, including mentoring programs.

Be a part of a refreshed leadership team, executing on a new, ambitious mandate for Technology, Data and AI that will elevate the company as a stand‑out digital firm in financial services.

  • Build and Lead a High‑Performing Team: Guide, mentor, and inspire a team of hands‑on and strategic data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Rapidly add skills where needed to create an organization capable of hands‑on delivery, business partnership and thought leadership across the technology organization.
  • Develop Core Data Capabilities: Own the design and implementation of the future‑state data platform (leveraging Snowflake), develop data products, catalogues, master data management, meta‑data management, data quality, lineage and access control solutions. Rapidly develop a codified understanding of the organization’s data needs that empower automation, analytics and enhanced client experiences.
  • Establish Data Governance: Partner with Governance functions to guide development of policies and procedures based on industry best practice and hard‑won personal experience. Design and implement controls and remediation programs that ensure the integrity, security, and responsible use of data, achieving ready and purposeful data access while maintaining complete regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Enable AI and Digital Transformation: Collaborate with peer AI, Digital, and Platform leads within the Technology function to deliver AI‑ready data, empowering advanced analytics, automation, and new digital products. Partner with peers in and outside of Technology to build an appreciation of the lifecycle for each dataset and product being used across the business.
  • Drive Data Fluency, Culture and Ownership: Champion and coach the organization in data literacy and fluency, fostering federated data ownership and a data‑driven mindset across all business functions. Ensure those with new data‑related responsibilities are enabled to succeed in their functions, supported by the right tooling, MI, learning resources and coaching.
  • Deliver Enterprise Data Programs: Lead the end‑to‑end maturation of our data assets, from architecting ingestion and storage, to catalogue maintenance and end‑user training, ensuring adoption and alignment with business priorities.
