The Oracle BI Specialist is responsible for validating business requirements, delivering Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) solutions, producing technical and functional documentation, and supporting change management, integration, testing, and knowledge transfer activities. The role requires strong experience with Oracle BI technologies, analytics solution design, end‑user engagement, and compliance with Ontario Government and Ministry Client/OPS standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Responsibilities Solution Design & Implementation- Validate business requirements and update functional and technical design documents.
- Implementation of Oracle Analytics Cloud; build custom ETL scripts and optimize BI solution for end‑user functionality.
- Prepare impact assessment documentation and recommended approach for engaging and training end users in adoption of Oracle BI functionality.
- Prepare implementation plan and effort estimates.
- Complete design documents and assist in test solution.
- Update semantic layer; modify or build new reports and dashboards and underlying data structures and related components.
- Build, test and migrate reports and related objects.
- Work with other team members to execute recommended/approved approach.
- Complete work and achieve milestones within assigned deadlines.
- Complete knowledge transfer to OPS team.
- Provide knowledge training to OPS resources that will maintain the solution post go‑live.
- Provide knowledge and skill transfer to a designated Ministry Client/OPS Organization staff.
- Notify the Ministry Client/OPS Organization project manager in writing of any issues or other material concerns related to the Assignment Deliverables as soon as he/she becomes aware of them.
- Submit Deliverables for the Ministry Client/OPS Organization approval as they are completed.
- Comply with the Ontario Government and the Ministry Client/OPS Organization security procedures and practices.
- Comply with the Ontario Government and the Ministry Client/OPS Organization architecture/technology standards and best practices.
- Comply with the Ontario Government and the Ministry Client/OPS Organization Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Guidelines.
- Comply with the Ontario Government I&IT Directive, Operational Policy on the I&IT Project Gateway Process, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedures.
- Multiple years of experience in configuring, developing, and roll out of Oracle Analytics Cloud features in a large implementation.
- Experience leading Change Management, developing and delivering end‑user engagement deliverables (training courses, user guides, material) and working with end users to ensure ease of adoption, training and transitioning end users to analytics.
- Extensive experience with OAC and features to lead/recommend solutions for multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with conducting workshops and requirements‑gathering sessions with clients on planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
- Experience with OBIEE, OAS, OAC, ODI, SQL, APEX, and related object design, build and implementation.
- Experience in building BI and Analytics applications optimized for high‑performance, high‑volume reporting and analytics functions on premise and cloud.
- Experience with data integration, data cleansing, and integration with OBIEE.
- Skilled in Software Development Life cycle and can apply in understanding, building, and maintaining custom solutions.
- In‑depth experience in providing and documenting impact assessment for application changes, upgrades, and patches.
- Experience in eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements.
- Experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance and Documentation.
- Experience in building custom extensions and retrofit of code.
- Experience in technical guidance on Oracle E‑Business Suite custom development.
- Demonstrated experience with Data reconciliation.
- Experience in training, transition and change management activities.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal: clear, concise, and jargon‑free.
