The client is seeking a highly experienced and performance-driven Senior Software Engineer – AML to join their AML Software Engineering team. This senior technical role is responsible for the build, integration, deployment, and support of the AML application Symphony

This role includes on-call and after-hours support on a team rotation basis.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide ongoing support for AWS Cloud-based AML application systems and data management layers:
Service request handling
Problem analysis and resolution
Escalation and reporting
Participate in system improvement initiatives including:
System renewal and stability enhancements
Upgrades and Disaster Recovery projects
Collaborate with:
Business partners
Infrastructure teams
System designers
Business system analysts
Testing specialists
Design, develop, code, test, and debug applications and integrations
Implement IT security best practices and work with cybersecurity teams to audit, remediate risks, and address findings
Participate in review processes:
Business requirements
Test plans
Design reviews
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
Eligibility for Reliability Status Security Clearance
Resided in Canada for at least 5 consecutive years
5+ years of progressive IT experience
Full application development lifecycle experience
API integration experience with AML platforms, specifically Symphony
AI Net RevealUniversity degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Cloud & Infrastructure
AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS (Postgres), etc.
Linux/Unix environments (command line, scripting, SSH/PuTTY)
Programming & Development
Strong Java development experience
Strong SQL competency (essential)
CI/CD best practices
Dev Ops tools:
Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, AnsibleContinuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines
Data & Integration
API integrations
File transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP)
IDMC operational process support
Kafka monitoring tools (redundancy, failover, recovery)
Security & Monitoring
SIEM tools such as:
Splunk
IBM QRadar
ITIL standards and best practices
Scheduling & Automation
Auto Sys job scheduling
Dependency management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Proficiency with Visio, PowerPoint, and flowcharting
