Position: Programmer Analyst Advisory (IBM Mainframe Technologies)

In this role, you will:
Act as an expert technical resource for problem analysis and solution implementationWork closely with Delivery and Technical Architecture teams, Product Owners and Technical Platform teams to design and develop high quality solutions supporting enterprise architecture and business process improvements that support our business and technical strategies.Implement new systems or enhancements by reviewing programs written by team members, establishing and executing system test procedures, developing implementation plan, developing the required program and system documentation and ensuring all functionality has been delivered as required. The incumbent is also required to provide post implementation support and training to the Production Support staff on the production processing functionalitySupport other development areas providing technical expertise, guidance, advice and knowledge transfer to staff and more junior DevelopersMust be able to work within tight deadlines, which may result in additional work hours to meet project deliverablesKeeps current on new technologyDeal effectively with external Vendors, Business Partners, internal Stakeholders and ManagementDo you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise between Business Users, Project Teams, external Vendors and Technical Support Teams working in a geographically dispersed team10 years of working experience with IBM Mainframe Technologies such as COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL for software developmentIn-depth knowledge of SDLC methodologyUnderstanding of File Transfer protocols and processes ie. FTP, SFTP, PGP EncryptionUnderstanding mainframe integration for ETL processingExperience with change management and version controlKnowledge and understanding of Web ServicesExperience in writing/creating/updating technical documentsExperience in batch job/process schedulingBachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.An understanding of current IT practices and systems development techniquesFamiliarity with data integration and data streaming, Web Sphere MQ and Communication NetworksFamiliarity with event driven programming conceptsExposure to Data Modelling and Data Architecture2-3 years experience support on UNIX RHEL 8.xWhat's in it for you?
