Senior Java Developer

Position Description We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45+ years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a Senior Java Developer, in our Financial Services Sector in Toronto.

Location - Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - 2 days per week) subject to change at any time.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
• Implement Kafka-based messaging solutions to support high-performance and reliable data integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Support deployment activities and contribute to system monitoring and performance optimization.
• Work within an Agile/ITIL-aligned environment, ensuring proper incident, problem, and change management processes are followed.

• 7+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Core Java expertise (OOP, performance, debugging)
• Spring Boot experience building scalable backend services
• Frontend experience with Angular or React
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, databases, and Git
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a modern full stack environment
• CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
