Business System Analyst

- Partner with business teams in banking and wealth management to understand data requirements, business processes, and regulatory nuances.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for the engineering teams.
- Support the design, validation, and monitoring of data ingestion processes for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with domain standards.
- Work with data engineers to ensure ingestion pipelines align with business use cases.
- Develop and maintain domain-based data views (e.g., customer portfolios, transactions, account summaries) using SQL.
- Ensure views are optimized, accurate, and structured to support reporting and analytics.
- Refine user stories and define clear acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure proper understanding and implementation of requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business and engineering teams, providing clarifications, resolving requirement gaps, and supporting data-related troubleshooting.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities.

- Strong understanding of banking and/or wealth management processes, such as:
- Asset management
- Client onboarding
- Compliance and regulatory reporting
- Portfolio and transaction reporting
- Proficiency in SQL (querying, joins, optimization).
- Basic knowledge of Python for data manipulation and scripting tasks.
- Familiarity with data ingestion tools / ETL pipelines / APIs is an advantage.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze data, validate outputs, and identify quality issues.
- Hands‑on experience in Agile environments (story grooming, sprint planning, backlog refinement).
