Application Support Specialist

Description   The Application Support Specialist is responsible for operational support and service management within the Shared Utility Service (SUS) environment, which hosts approximately 200 government applications. The role ensures optimal performance, availability, and security of the IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include system monitoring, incident management, queue management, change coordination, and continuous improvement of the SUS environment using advanced middleware technologies.

Skillset     

Experience with middleware application suite such as but not limited to IBM Web Sphere Application Server NDM and Liberty

Experience with IBM Data Power

Experience with Deployment Automation – Urban Code Deploy and Urban Code Velocity

Experience with middleware monitoring tools e.g. ITCAM, Dynatrace

Experience with cloud technology including Open Shift, Kubernetes and Ansible

Experience with ITIL Incident Management process

Experience with ITIL Change Management process

Experience with Remedy/eSMT or other service management tools

Experience with reporting tools and data visualization e.g. PowerBI
Demonstrate strong communication and problem solving skills

Experience with standard MS office suite
Demonstrate initiative and responsiveness

Job Type & Location   This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.
Pay and Benefits   The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr.
Workplace Type   This is a fully onsite position in Toronto, ON.
