You’ll be a key part of an innovative, “first to market” technology culture, contributing to CIBC’s digital transformation journey. As a Senior Manager, Back End Developer, you will be joining CIBC’s AESP (Application Engineering & Shared Platform) and ECIS (Enterprise Customer Information System) to assist in accelerating our transformation and optimizing the way we develop and deliver code to ultimately bring high value to our clients.

You will collaborate with partners in application development, quality assurance, operations, infrastructure, and business across various technology groups to deliver high-quality products.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You'll Succeed

Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD):
Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI. Understanding of automated framework and practices.

Dev Ops Culture:

Experience with Docker/Podman for containerization. Knowledge of orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Open Shift. Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or Power Shell. Ability to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows. Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols. Understanding of security best practices in Dev Ops environments.

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Ability to analyze logs and metrics to troubleshoot issues. Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation. Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.

Leadership

Skills:

Capability to lead initiatives and mentor team members in Dev Ops practices. Influence and inspire others to adopt Dev Ops principles.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate 8-10 years of experience in the IT industry with preferred background in Java/Python/NodeJS development and middleware administration of highly available environment. You have a strong understanding of Dev Ops concepts/methodologies, principles and tools (IBM Urban Code, Ansible), as well as CI/CD toolset. You have previous experience of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and has strong scripting skills (Bash, Python & Go).

You have experience in monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace) and had built a dashboard for large scale applications.
