Role Description
Validation Dev Ops Engineer – Lead I - Dev Ops Engineering

UST is seeking a Validation Dev Ops Engineer with strong Python and Dev Ops expertise to support semiconductor product validation workflows.

The Opportunity

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops or Jenkins for hardware and firmware validation

Automate test workflows using Python for firmware, BIOS, and driver validation tasks

Manage infrastructure for test execution including virtual machines, containers, and lab assets

Monitor job executions, debug failures, and drive improvements to test pipeline health and coverage

Work with validation, development, and QA teams to triage bugs and deliver timely resolutions

Develop dashboards for test metrics, status reporting, and automation health

Maintain version control workflows using Git; manage branch strategy and release tagging

Document build/test procedures and contribute to knowledgebase for issue resolution

Collaborate in a fast-paced Agile environment and drive continuous improvement

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

Strong proficiency in Python scripting for test automation and orchestration

Hands-on experience with Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, or similar/CD tools

Familiarity with semiconductor validation workflows (BIOS, firmware, hardware bring-up)

Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments

Git-based source control experience with code branching and merge strategies

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Familiarity with YAML, Docker, and container-based deployment

Experience working with Azure cloud infrastructure

Exposure to Robot Framework, PyTest, or other test frameworks

Understanding of system buses (PCIe, USB, I2C) and hardware interfaces

Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tracking tools

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or related field

5-8 years of experience in validation automation or Dev Ops engineering in a semiconductor environment

Compensation Range
$95,000-$119,000

Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
