Senior Business Systems Analyst
Experience Level: 7+ Years
Role Summary
The Senior Business Systems Analyst acts as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. This role focuses on systems supporting MD Advisors and Operations, ensuring applications maximize business value, align with enterprise strategy, and deliver strong return on investment.
The role works closely with the Technology Product Manager, development teams, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable product enhancements and roadmap initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Backlog Alignment
Assess and align work to the prioritized product backlog, including new features, refactoring initiatives, and defect resolution.
Collaborate with stakeholders to break down large initiatives into manageable, prioritized components.
Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation and system enhancements.
Contribute to product roadmap planning in alignment with enterprise goals.
Business & Process Analysis
Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements.
Develop clear, actionable requirements to support development, QA, and change management activities.
Identify process improvement opportunities within advisor and operational workflows.
Ensure user feedback is incorporated into product evolution.
Stakeholder & Cross-Team Collaboration
Coordinate stakeholder input for product enhancements.
Work closely with:
Technology Product Manager
Software Development teams
QA teams
Release Management
PMO
Enterprise Architecture
Security and Deployment teams
Act as a liaison between business and technology throughout the SDLC.
SDLC & Delivery Support
Participate in all stages of the system development lifecycle.
Support development and QA teams during feature implementation.
Coordinate and assist users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Ensure smooth execution of projects and release cycles.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Process Analyst.
Experience working on large program or project initiatives involving technology components .
Strong business and process analysis expertise.
Solid understanding of technology stacks and implementation processes.
Experience working closely with development and QA teams.
Ability to operate effectively in cross-functional enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Financial Services industry.
Experience working in product-aligned delivery models.
Strong knowledge of advisor-facing or operations-supporting systems.
