Cogency is seeking a highly analytical and domain‑strong Business Systems Analyst with deep Capital Markets expertise. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong functional understanding of financial products, hands‑on data analysis capabilities, and the ability to independently drive projects end‑to‑end across business and technology teams.

This role requires strong ownership, clarity of thought, and the ability to articulate the broader objectives of initiatives—not just task‑level involvement.

• Strong knowledge of financial products, particularly within Capital Markets
• Deep understanding of trade lifecycle, capital markets functions, and related data flows
• Extremely hands‑on SQL expertise with ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data
• Ability to independently drive projects end‑to‑end
• Experience working directly with upstream business stakeholders and technical teams (including PMs, architects, and developers)
• 5+ years of experience, preferably within banking or financial institutions

Strong understanding of Capital Markets products:

• Equities
• Fixed Income
• FX and Money Markets

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements with clear understanding of overall business objectives
• Perform deep data analysis using SQL to validate requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support reporting initiatives
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and data mappings
• Lead discussions across business and technology teams, ensuring alignment on scope and deliverables
• Conduct impact analysis for system changes and enhancements
• Support UAT, defect triage, and production issue resolution
• Clearly articulate project objectives, scope, dependencies, and expected outcomes
• Ensure deliverables align with regulatory and operational requirements

• Experience in regulatory reporting or risk reporting
• Exposure to reporting frameworks within Capital Markets
• Familiarity with Agile delivery environments

• Demonstrates strong functional depth in Capital Markets (not UI/portal-focused roles)
• Understands the “big picture” of projects and can clearly explain business drivers and outcomes
• Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying data discrepancies
• Confident communicator who can challenge stakeholders where needed
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability
