What You’ll Be Doing

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a key role in supporting data management and analysis activities aligned with CIBC’s Client Data Strategy and Regulatory initiatives. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and reusability for downstream reporting, including regulatory trade reporting obligations. You will assist with business intelligence and analytics to support ongoing operations and senior management decision‑making.

Additionally, you will contribute to process automation initiatives to optimize existing workflows.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Client Data Management – Collaborate with stakeholders across Client Services, Technology, Client Management Services, Regulatory Operations, and Regulatory Change Management to support client data management strategies (including client onboarding, AML/KYC, trade & regulatory attributes). Assist with data extraction, analysis, reporting, dashboarding, and process automation. Partner with Technology to implement and enhance client data management tools and provide project management support for data management and regulatory initiatives.
  • Relationship Management – Effectively manage relationships with internal clients and stakeholders, including Technology and Operations teams. Engage with team members to learn and share best practices.
  • Compliance – Ensure compliance with all applicable CIBC and line of business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.
Who You Are
  • Education:

    Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Willingness to Learn – Eager to expand your skills and knowledge in a fast‑paced, high‑performing team environment. Open to feedback and actively seek opportunities to develop professionally.
  • Data Management Skills – Demonstrated interest or experience in data management, with familiarity in Capital Markets business and product knowledge considered an asset.
  • Adaptability & Change Advocacy – Embrace and advocate for change, continuously evolving your thinking and approach to deliver your best. Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and process efficiencies and adapt to changing situations.
  • Client Focus – Committed to providing excellent service to internal and external clients and team members. Able to communicate information clearly and effectively.
