This role owns the design, execution, and productionization of high-impact machine learning systems that sit at the intersection of data quality, inference pipelines, experimentation, and real-world platform integration. The position operates as a senior technical authority, driving ML and other initiatives from ambiguous problem statements through measurable production outcomes. The role requires deep hands‑on technical leadership and the ability to translate business and product intent into scalable ML systems.

It also demands strong influence across engineering, data, and product collaborators.

• Lead the end‑to‑end development of machine learning systems, from data analysis and modeling through experimentation, validation, and production deployment
• Build and implement scalable batch and real‑time inference pipelines with strong guarantees around correctness, reproducibility, and operational stability
• Own model performance analysis, experiment design, and accuracy evaluation, including diagnosing regressions and driving iterative improvements
• Translate noisy, incomplete, or inconsistent real‑world data into reliable signals usable by downstream systems
• Define and evolve ML workflows that support rapid experimentation while remaining production‑safe
• Partner closely with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate ML outputs into live systems
• Drive technical clarity in ambiguous problem spaces by decomposing domains into well‑defined, testable components
• Author technical builds and implementation plans that align multiple teams around a shared execution strategy
• Serve as a technical mentor and reviewer for other specialists working on applied ML systems
• Act as a go‑to guide for debugging, operational issues, and architectural decisions in machine learning‑based services

• Experience building and deploying predictive modeling solutions in production environments
• Strong foundation in data analysis, model evaluation, and experimentation methodology
• Proven track record to design and operate both batch and real‑time ML pipelines
• Hands‑on proficiency with Python and ML tooling
• Experience working with imperfect, large‑scale datasets and deriving actionable signal from them
• Proven track record to work across interpersonal boundaries and align collaborators with differing priorities
• Strong technical communication skills, including written design documentation and executive‑level explanations

• Experience operationalizing ML models in high‑traffic, high‑reliability systems
• Familiarity with distributed data processing and scalable inference architectures
• Background in applied machine learning for classification, inference, or decision‑support systems
• Track record of owning critical ML workflows or platforms used by multiple teams

• Operates as an individual contributor with broad technical autonomy
• Owns problem spaces with high business and technical ambiguity
• Influences architectural direction beyond immediate team boundaries

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

C $118,000 – C $157,500
