Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Location: Toronto, ON

Role Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator will manage and maintain virtual machine environments across Linux and Windows systems, ensuring stability, availability, and operational efficiency. This role involves handling tickets, requests, and escalations, supporting business operations during EST hours, and contributing to automation initiatives.

The position primarily supports legacy build-related tasks while ensuring smooth day-to-day system operations.

Key Responsibilities VM Administration
  • Manage and administer virtual machines across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Ensure high availability, stability, and performance of VM infrastructure.
Ticket & Request Management
  • Handle incoming tickets, requests, and intake forms efficiently.
  • Track, prioritize, and resolve issues according to service-level expectations.
Automation & Escalation
  • Work on automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage escalations and coordinate with relevant teams as required.
Customer Support
  • Provide support during standard business hours (EST).
  • Serve as a point of contact for operational inquiries and issue resolution.
Other Responsibilities
  • Primarily handle legacy build-related tasks as part of system operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure operational best practices are followed.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in VM administration (Hyper-V, VMware, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
    .
  • Familiarity with SQL databases is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in ticketing systems, issue tracking, and operational support.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience
  • 8–10 years of relevant systems administration experience in enterprise environments.
