Apex Systems, a global IT services provider, is seeking a Senior Project Manager for placement at our client, a top Canadian bank.

Terms: 6 months with possibility to extend

Location: Hybrid – downtown, 1 day a week

Pay Rate: $55‑65/Hr (T4)

The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of technology solutions being deployed into the new Tower. This role requires a seasoned, execution‑focused leader who is comfortable working in a large enterprise with mature governance processes, multiple technology partners, and external vendors. This person will report into senior technology leadership and will regularly present project progress, risks, and decisions to executive stakeholders.

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of technology work streams for the Tower build.
• Drive execution of complex technical implementations across infrastructure, networking, workplace enablement, and vendor‑provided systems.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise project governance, PMO standards, and project lifecycle processes.

• Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors, system integrators, and internal technology partners.
• Coordinate activities across multiple business units, engineering teams, facilities teams, and construction stakeholders.
• Present project status, risks, financials, and milestones directly to senior executives and steering committees.

• Produce rigorous project documentation including charters, schedules, RAID logs, budget updates, resource plans, and implementation artifacts.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architectural, operational readiness, and risk management requirements.
• Support and enforce change management, controls, and quality standards.

• Drive issues to resolution quickly via collaboration with SMEs, vendors, and technical leads.
• Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Roll up sleeves as needed—support technical teams, coordinate deployments, and remove roadblocks.

• 8+ years of Project Management experience in complex, large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Proven experience supporting or leading large technology implementation projects (infrastructure, workplace technology, facilities technology, or construction‑related tech preferred).
• Deep understanding of formal project management processes (PMP, PMBOK, SDLC, Agile/Hybrid).

• Experience working in organizations with heavy process, documentation, and governance rigour.
• Strong familiarity with enterprise risk, architecture, change control, and operational readiness processes.

• Experience implementing technology during construction or fit‑out of commercial office buildings.
• Previous experience in financial services or banking.
• PMP or equivalent certification.
• Experience with workplace technology: AV, networking, cabling, end‑user computing, Wi‑Fi, security systems, etc.
