Senior Manager Technical Analysis (Capital Markets Technology) The Team

Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets businesses.

GBME is searching for Sr Manager Technical Analysis to work closely with various stakeholders including business partners in operations and financial engineering, business analyst, architecture, and infrastructure to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions within GBME.

The successful candidate will have a results-oriented and curious mindset with strong technical skills. You will work closely with cross functional teams, including engineers, solutions architects, and business teams to develop and implement market leading solutions that are scalable and deliver excellence, and value to our business partners and customers.

• Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
• Ensure business specifications/requirements documentation is accurately prepared and comprehensive to support sizing/development efforts and as input to various project documentation.
• Develop and deliver Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required.
• Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.
• Work closely across GBME technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution.
• Liaise between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.
• Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed.
• Perform ad hoc work as needed.

• 8+ years of practical experience and product/business knowledge in Capital Market Technology
• 10+ years of Business Analysis / Technical Analysis experience.
• 10+ years working knowledge of Relational databases such as Oracle/SQL, with ability to create and run queries independently.
• Candidate should be FRM certified (Nice to Have).
• 5+ years of experience in managing BA teams.
• Experience working as a Business Analyst across various regulatory initiatives in Capital Markets.
• Experience working with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Good understanding of FI and OTC products and their pricing.
• Functional testing experience in PROD and NON-PROD environments.
• Exposure to Risk Watch (Nice to Have)
