What is the opportunity?

RBC is recruiting for an exciting Senior Research Manager role in which you will have the opportunity to accelerate shareholder value through increased understanding of the needs of consumers, clients, communities and employees and RBC’s performance. Using cost effective research methodologies, you will conduct research studies for RBC enterprise ensuring that the business units are provided with timely, actionable, high quality client insights to support their decision-making process.

In this role you will interpret and integrate client and market research findings and proactively share the insights across the enterprise to develop differentiating strategies and solutions that support revenue growth and RBC’s competitiveness in the marketplace.
What will you do?
  • With a focus on exceptional client experience consult with business units to effectively understand and define their business needs, translate the business needs into research needs and propose the most appropriate recommendations
  • Be responsible for the project management from initiation through executing field work to reporting, and consulting on client insights throughout the process either via in-house survey tools or working in partnership with 3rd party research suppliers
  • Understand research objectives, design research approach and surveys for in-house research programs
  • Measure, track and report client experience results and metrics across multiple business lines
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to signal market trends, identify business opportunities & emerging market segments, relevant positioning, value proposition and potential product development/ enhancements
  • Leverage knowledge from RBC’s Client Experience Design & Insights (CXDI) team and the broader enterprise to uncover better insights by bringing in multiple information sources
  • Test and learn new and enhanced methodologies including new measurement metrics, in-house tools and research techniques to achieve the highest standard in research excellence
  • Work with the research team, enterprise and business stakeholders to ensure due diligence is completed for approved 3rd party research suppliers
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have
  • Proven 7+ years of experience in marketing research on the supplier/vendor side
  • Proven experience managing large scale Client Experience (CX) research programs
  • Practical experience with SPSS and/or Q Research Software, and Excel are a must-have
  • Superior knowledge on a wide range of research techniques covering both qualitative and quantitative areas
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills in a cross-functional and information-sharing environment
  • Superior ability to translate complex research data into precise and simple information for business partners
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with the ability to quickly pivot
  • Nice-to-have
  • Degree in related field. MBA or equivalent an asset
  • Business to Business research experience
  • Working French proficiency
