People Soft Financials (GL) Technical Consultant

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced People Soft Technical Consultant with 10+ years of hands‑on People Tools development experience, specializing in People Soft Financials (GL). This role requires strong technical expertise in People Tools, integrations, reporting, Fluid UI, and production support. The consultant will work onsite in Toronto three days per week, supporting ongoing enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and GL operations.

Key Responsibilities

People Tools Development
Design, develop, and customize People Soft components using:

• People Code
• Application Engine
• SQR
• Application Packages
• Component Interfaces
• Integration Broker
• File Layouts
• Page Design / Classic & Fluid UI

Build and enhance People Soft technical solutions supporting General Ledger (GL) processes such as:

• Journals
• Allocations
• Multicurrency
• Consolidation
• Interunit processing
• Close/equitization activities

Technical Design & Documentation

• Create comprehensive Technical Design Documents (TDD/LLD) based on functional requirements.

Integrations & Interfaces

• Develop, configure, and test integrations using:
• APIs
• REST/SOAP web services
• Support third‑party system connectivity and troubleshooting.

Reporting

• Build and customize reports using BI Publisher and nVision.

Upgrades & Maintenance

• Support UM updates, retrofitting, and code remediation.
• Perform technical validation activities across environments.
• Execute end‑to-end system integration testing, including defect resolution.

Production Support

• Analyze and resolve production issues across People Soft Financials.
• Perform troubleshooting, data fixes, and performance tuning using advanced SQL.
• Work with tools such as PHIRE or STAT for change control and code migration.

Required Skills

Proven experience with:

• People Code

• Page Design (Classic and Fluid)

Financials / GL Expertise
Strong technical background in People Soft Financials – GL module.
Ability to work with complex GL processes including:

• Journals, allocations
• Multicurrency
• Consolidation
• Close/equitization
• Interunit transactions

Fluid UI Development

• Experience developing Fluid pages (Tiles, Homepage, Responsive UI).

Integrations

• Expertise with REST/SOAP web services and third‑party integrations.

Database & Debugging

• Strong SQL skills for debugging, data correction, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with MySQL or similar RDBMS environments.

Upgrades & Tools

• People Tools & Financials upgrade experience including PUM, nVision
• Experience with migration/change control tools: PHIRE, STAT

Desirable Skills

• Broader experience across People Soft Financials modules (AP/AR/GL)
• Performance tuning and optimization best practices
• Experience with cloud integrations or modernization initiatives
