What is the opportunity?The Sr. Software Licensing Manager is responsible for applying their understanding of contracts, software/hardware licensing and IT asset management practices to strategically manage and support the organization’s effective licensing position (ELP) of software assets.The incumbent will be the subject matter expert in various licensing models, cost reporting, optimization and contract compliance.
What will you do?
Serve as the team’s Subject Matter Expert on Effective Licensing Positioning (ELP) by conducting reviews of software/hardware licensing agreements, entitlements and comparing against deployment, usage and consumption.
Lead on-going tracking, optimization, entitlement validation, identify risks and compliance concerns and provide strategic insights in preparation and anticipation of contract renewals.
Identify and work with product owners to share whether under-licensed (potential audit risks) or whether over-licensed, prior to annual true-up or renewal date.
Drive ELP findings with stakeholders, products owners and remediation activities for closure.
Collaborate with stakeholders, partners and vendors in ELPs, data reviews, audits and inventory checks to ensure compliance with governance standards and data integrity.
Analyze large asset data sets and develop reports and dashboards to identify trends, optimize utilization to provide insights into inventory, usage and costs.
Must-have
Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of experience working in Software Asset Management, licensing compliance, Flexera and Service Now.
In-depth knowledge and experience in working with software entitlements, EULAs and contracts.
Extensive experience in managing license compliance with large software publishers and various licensing models.
Experience in audit readiness.
Excellent documentation, analytical, presentation and communication skills.
Process flow and knowledge documentation.
Practical experience in reporting and analytics of data.
Strong experience working with vendors and service providers.
Experience working in financial banking industry.
Understanding of ITAM governance, policies and compliance standards.
Experience working with large amounts of data sets in various asset management industry tools.
Experience with documenting workflows and process gap analysis (Microsoft Visio, Mural)
Professional certifications CSAM, CITAM.
Experience working with automation and AI in SAM processes for efficient compliance monitoring is a plus.
