Technical Solutions Architect - Node.js, JavaScript, Next.js, Azure​/GCP, REST API design

Role Description

Experience & Background

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering

• 4+ years in architecture roles, preferably within financial services

• Proven experience architecting end-to-end solutions across multiple technology platforms

• Strong background applying established architecture and design frameworks

Architecture Ownership & Strategy

• Define, maintain, and evolve target-state architecture

• Ensure alignment with compliance, regulatory, and enterprise standards

• Establish architectural frameworks, principles, and guardrails to drive consistent, secure, and scalable delivery

Client-Facing & UX Architecture

• Design and architect micro-UIs and micro-apps

• Optimize client-facing experiences for scale, usability, and security

• Align architecture with client-centric service and sales experiences across integrated channels

API & Integration Expertise

• Lead REST API design and resource modeling, particularly for onboarding workflows

• Ensure APIs are extensible, secure, and aligned with enterprise integration patterns

• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures, including Kafka-based systems

Security & Regulatory Alignment

• Design onboarding flows with privacy-by-design principles

• Ensure compliance with internet-scale security standards

• Hands-on experience with security architecture, including:

o Authentication, authorization, and auditing

o OAuth2 and modern security protocols

o Data protection and secure system design

Cloud & Technical Depth

• Hands-on experience with:

o Node.js, JavaScript, Next.js

o Cloud-native platforms (Azure and/or GCP)

• Strong understanding of designing internet-facing, internet-scale systems

• Experience with modern scaling and networking technologies (e.g., IP networking, F5 load balancers, Akamai GTM/CDN)

Architecture Modeling & Workflow

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Camunda and Temporal

• Exposure to enterprise business architecture modeling

• Strong system design experience across complex, multi-tier production environments, including:

o Micro-UIs and microservices

o API design

o Event-driven architectures

o ETL and data solutions

o Domain-driven design

o Cloud platform deployments

o System resiliency engineering

o Agile practices within product teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with business, product, and sales stakeholders to co-create solutions

• Consult on technology investments and architectural decisions

• Align technical strategy with business and client outcomes

Leadership & Communication

• Proven ability to communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to senior executives

• Influence decision-making at the executive level

• Mentor engineers and guide teams across large portfolios

• Strong presentation skills for executive, business, product, and sales audiences
