SAP Utilities Finance; FI Solution Architect

Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP Finance (FI) Solution Architect to join their project immediately and will run for 1 year, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience and broad knowledge of utilities S/4

HANA Finance and cross functional processes and Meter to Cash along with a strong understanding of integration, extensibility, and SAP technical architecture. Must have excellent facilitation for decision making, and stakeholder management and demonstrated ability to balance business needs, technical constraints, and program timelines effectively. This will be a primarily remote role, with travel required 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Fit to Standard workshops and ensure adoption of SAP standard capabilities.
• Define the overall architecture blueprint for the S/4
  
  HANA landscape.
• Design end to end processes across modules (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, EAM).
• Ensure alignment with S/4
  
  HANA innovations (e.g., Fiori, Universal Journal, embedded analytics).
• Oversee integration strategy across SAP and non SAP systems (BTP, APIs, IDocs, cloud applications).
• Ensure coherent data architecture, including MDG, master data structures, and reporting layers.
• Partner with Basis, Security, and Development teams to ensure scalable and secure design.
• Own and enforce design governance, standards, and best practices.
• Run Design Authority forums and resolve cross functional design decisions.
• Review and sign off on WRICEF design, functional specs, test coverage, and cutover readiness.
• Work with business owners to translate requirements into feasible SAP solutions.
• Recommend configuration vs. enhancement vs. process change when evaluating requirements.
• Ensure clarity of design impacts on people, process, and data.
• Support project planning, sequencing, and dependency management.
• Guide build, testing, data migration, and cutover activities.
• Ensure the final solution meets functional and non functional requirements.
