Job Title:
Project Manager/Leader - Senior Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension) Pay Rate: CAD 90- 100/Hour Role Overview
Senior Project Manager leading complex, multi-year, multi-ministry I&IT initiatives focused on audio-visual, videoconferencing, VoIP, and telecommunications solutions. The role manages end-to-end project delivery, vendor procurement, stakeholder engagement, and change management within a public sector environment.
Required Tech Stack- Infrastructure: Building telecom infrastructure, AV hardware & software
- Project Tools: MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- IT Domains: Multi-tier I&IT systems, cloud technologies, secure/high-availability hosting
- Standards & Practices: IT security, change management, procurement, OPS I&IT standards
- 5+ years of audio-visual and videoconferencing technology experience
- 10+ years of project management experience delivering complex I&IT projects
- Proven experience managing medium to large-scale technical projects
- Strong knowledge of AV, communications, and IT deployment best practices
- Experience with vendor management, procurement, and contract administration
- Public sector experience (OPS / Justice sector)
preferred - Plan and lead complex AV, videoconferencing, VoIP, and I&IT projects across multiple stakeholders
- Develop project charters, master project plans, schedules, budgets, and communication plans
- Lead project teams, vendors, contractors, and local trades to ensure timely delivery
- Manage procurement activities including RFPs, contract negotiation, and vendor oversight
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; elevate as required
- Oversee system design, installation, testing, commissioning, and client handover
- Ensure quality assurance, system functionality testing, and formal client sign-off
- Manage financial controls, forecasting, and project reporting
- Provide expert advice for business cases and senior-level submissions
- Drive change management and user adoption activities
- Deliver knowledge transfer through documentation, meetings, and SharePoint repositories
