Position: Web Support Assistant - August 2026 Start Date

POSITION OVERVIEW

IGNITE is looking for a curious, motivated, and tech-savvy Web Support Assistant to help support our digital platforms and enhance student experiences online. You will assist with maintaining our Word Press website, connected tools, and digital services while gaining hands‑on experience with modern cloud, web, and automation technologies. This role is ideal for students who enjoy problem‑solving, learning new systems, and improving digital processes.

You do not need to know everything listed — if you learn quickly and work well independently, we encourage you to apply. This role will primarily support the Data Analytics and Digital Transformation team; however, collaboration across IGNITE’s other functional groups will be required to ensure cohesiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Website & Digital Platform Support
  • Update and maintain  using Word Press and other tools.
  • Create and publish content such as events, pages, and banners.
  • Perform accessibility checks (AODA, WCAG) and basic quality assurance testing.
2. Technical & System Support
  • Assist with troubleshooting website and integration issues (collecting logs, testing, verifying fixes)
  • Support testing of backend and frontend features before deployment.
  • Navigate cloud and hosting tools such as WP Engine and Microsoft Azure for housing IGNITE's digital solutions (considered assets)
3. Process Improvement & Digital Innovation
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in digital workflows and propose practical solutions.
  • Support documentation of technical processes, integrations, or updates.
  • Collaborate with developers on UX/UI improvements and new features.
  • Assist with research into tools, automations, or technologies that could benefit IGNITE.
4. Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with Data Analytics & Digital Transformation and other internal teams.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Clearly communicate findings, issues, and recommendations.
COMPETENCIES
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (Word Press preferred) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with an interest in technology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to learn new platforms and tools quickly and independently.
NICE TO HAVES
  • Knowledge of hosting/cloud platforms (We use WP Engine and Microsoft Azure).
  • Knowledge of programming constructs.
  • Understanding of security basics (SSL, firewalls, updates).
  • Familiarity with Figma or UX/UI tools.
