Job Description :

Databricks Developer

Client: Big 5 Bank

Location: Downtown Toronto. Hybrid: Thursdays in office and every 4 th Friday

Duration of Contract/Perm: 6 months contract with multiple extensions available

Hours/week: 37.5 hrs/wk. 9-5 PM, M-F

Start date: June 2025

• Improved visualization and analytical capabilities through the QI Dashboard.

Required Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience with:
• Azure Data Factory (ADF) , Databricks , and Azure Functions (C#) .
• Python/Notebooks development on Databricks/Spark/Pandas .
• Loading datasets using ADF into Databricks following Medallion architecture .
• Migrating from Hive Metastore to Unity Catalog and configuring associated permissions.
• Designing Delta Lake schemas with appropriate properties and security controls.
• Building Dev Ops pipelines using Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub Enterprise , especially for cluster/secret management and code deployment in Databricks.
• Configuring Azure Entra  SSO and RBAC.
• Working with Azure PaaS resources:
  Azure SQL PaaS , ADF/SHIR , ADLS , Databricks , and Synapse Dedicated SQL Pools .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Delta Live Tables .
• Familiarity with secure, locked-down Windows environments.
• Background in the Financial Services industry .

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Leadership capabilities to guide small teams and facilitate technical problem-solving sessions.
