Lead Quality Engineer – Artificial Intelligence

Accelerate Her Future® is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to join our purpose‑driven team focused on Canadian Banking. The role ensures all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures, and supports the organization’s business strategies and objectives.

Requisition

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enhance and maintain the test automation framework architecture; implement automation approaches to maximize coverage across all areas.
  • Lead the design, development and maintenance of test automation frameworks, writing moderate to complex code/scripting to enable continuous testing in an agile environment.
  • Introduce AI technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and streamline quality engineering processes.
  • Lead testing for projects and initiatives across multiple applications; plan team allocation and capacity management.
  • Facilitate communication across team members and motivate the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Collaborate with the team to plan milestones, execute project delivery, and appropriately escalated issues.
  • Coordinate the completion of Quality Engineering deliverables on time in collaboration with cross‑functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide regular status updates, highlight risks and issues, conduct root‑cause analysis of post‑production incidents, and plan preventive measures.
  • Report defects and work closely with the team to prioritize and schedule solutions.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of the organization’s products, applications, systems, environments, processes and tools.
  • Champion a customer‑focused culture, deepen client relationships, and leverage broader bank relationships and knowledge.
  • Consider the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
  • Ensure operations align with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, and that day‑to‑day business controls meet operational, compliance and conduct risk obligations.
  • Promote a high‑performance and inclusive work environment.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related discipline (preferred).
  • 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience with in‑depth knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java or JavaScript), frameworks, and utilities (e.g., Selenium Web Driver or Webdriver

    IO).
  • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Engineering Lead.
  • Experience with AI (must have).
  • Experience with API testing, preferably using Postman.
  • Experience leading teams to encourage individual and collaborative innovation.
  • Detail‑oriented testing approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence decision‑making across stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Positive and resilient personality – able to embrace feedback and continuously iterate and improve.
