Director, CLAO Data Management and Reporting Services
Directs the strategic design, management, and implementation of an enterprise-wide business analytics program to drive client satisfaction, service innovation and profitability. Manages activities through senior managers and managers and implements corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?- Responsible for delivering accurate and timely reporting, empowering users with data tools and training, and overseeing data quality, governance, and security. Collaborates with stakeholders to support informed decision-making across CLAO and ensures compliance with regulatory data management requirements.
- Data Governance & Standards:
Establish frameworks, maintain data dictionaries, and enforce business rules for accuracy and consistency. - Data Security:
Build and maintain a CLAO data management program to comply with RBC data domain requirements, ensuring datasets/domains are secure, accurate, and aligned with RBC policies. - Accurate Reporting & Visualization:
Develop and deliver clear reports/dashboards and intuitive visualizations to support CLAO stakeholders in making informed decisions. - User Empowerment:
Provide tools, training, and BI tool access (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for self‑service analytics. - Dashboard Development:
Build and maintain dashboards/scorecards for the CLAO OC, CLAO Project Management Office, Operational Risk, and Law Group. - IT
Collaboration:
Partner with IT to resolve source system issues and enhance data feeds. - Lead & Develop Teams:
Build and develop the CLAO data governance and reporting teams. Align employees with RBC’s vision, coach for growth, and drive goal‑oriented behaviors.
- 10+ Years in Financial Institutions:
Proven track record with deep expertise in banking operations, regulations, and industry standards. - Data Management & Analysis:
Expertise in collecting, organizing, and analyzing large datasets to drive informed business decisions. - Advanced BI Tool Proficiency:
Expert‑level skills in Power BI, Tableau or similar tools, with ability to design and deploy complex, interactive dashboards and reports. - Data Visualization & Storytelling:
Ability to create intuitive visualizations and craft compelling narratives to engage stakeholders and drive outcomes. - Stakeholder Collaboration & Training:
Strong partnership skills to understand reporting needs and provide training on BI tools. - Communication & Project Management:
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Change Management:
Ability to lead change initiatives, engage stakeholders, and ensure support for organizational transitions. - People Management:
Experience as a people manager and in developing others’ skills and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. - IT Service Management:
Familiarity with IT service management frameworks to design and implement services aligned with business need.
