The Select Group is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer for our leading Telecommunication client in Canada. We are currently seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join our clients growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of their technology landscape.
Dev Ops Engineer requirements:
With your 7+ years of progressive professional experience in SDM technologies: UDR/UDM/HSS/HLR/EIR/SLD and backend service databases in mission-critical environments, proven expertise in REST APIs, 4G/Diameter and 3G/MAP, with a focus in systems integration and upper-tier technical support rolesValued for your in-depth technical knowledge of mobile/cellular core networks (internal clients to SDM), solid understanding of data and voice session flows in mobile networks, current communications protocols, spanning EPC, 5GC, IMS, as well as the IP family of protocols (notably IPv6, HTTP/2, SCTP), applicable security practices, concepts and protocols (TLS, IPsec), current-generation network management (NETCONF/YANG)Solid understanding of 5G Core SDM nodes and overall architecture: UDM/AUSF, UDF/UDSF, new interfaces and services, including Service-Based Interfaces and REST APIsRecognized for understanding of provisioning and the network nodes and protocols involved: provisioning gateways, SOAP/XML, SPML, as well as REST services APIRegarded in your understanding of database technologies including LDAP, SQL, no-SQL, data replication/geo-redundancy, split-brain scenarios, ACID complianceAcknowledged for your hands-on experience with SDM nodes as VNFs (virtual network functions): managing VNF lifecycle: planning, deployment, integration, troubleshooting, operationsConfident with your knowledge of 3

Dev Ops environment development exposure (systems integration, coding/scripting)Scripting and Linux system administration (Python, basic BASH)Software development experienceExperience with one or more major vendors in the SDM space in a systems-integration or technical support role:
Nokia/Ericsson/Huawei/Samsung/Hitachi/etcExposure and experience with Cloud Technologies and tools, particularly as applicable to cloudified network elements: KVM/QEMU, Red Hat Open Stack, Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift – Git, Ansible, Jenkins, Elastic Search/Logstash/KibanaExperience working in Agile team environmentsProfessional certifications:
Red Hat (RHCE), Open Shift/Open Stack, IP Routing and SwitchingDay to Day Responsibilities:
Lead design, integration, deployment, testing and evolution planning aspects of SDM Platforms associated core network nodes, supporting both Wireless and Wireline services, interfacing with internal clients: other core network platform Dev Ops teams as well as IT/provisioning and business leads on a per-project basisProduce best practice node and services configuration documentation as needed to implement and test the required servicesDevelop and execute test plans and test cases to verify the implementation against the target requirements and project goalsWork with other teams and stakeholders, vendors, platforms and source code when applicable to understand and resolve technical issues related to SDM impacting data or voice based services, and autonomously drive the issues all the way to resolutionLead performance analysis, capacity planning and budget management activities as necessaryResearch and share the state of the art on both technology and workflow improvement tools:
Dev Ops toolchainsLead and participate in the creation of technical design documentation as well as Lab and Production MOPs: detailed design and architecture blueprints, procedures for network changes, supporting Operations on complex changes when requiredBe a part of the on-call rotation schedule for the teamLead and participate in test automation activities for both Lab and Production environmentsSupport the execution of test plans, including troubleshootingTSG is an equal opportunity employer.
