Best VS. Average Candidate - including notes from supplier call:
Ideal candidate can demonstrate they are a self starter who takes initiative, ideally someone who started as a Dev/engineer who worked up to solution architect, has good experience with cloud architecture on enterprise scale projects and any large scale enterprise architecture experience –candidate should be able to explain a larger piece of architecture they were involved in and not just a small piece
- Someone who can identify security best practices vs just security analysts from a process perspective vs enterprise integration specialist –
Cloud –doesn’t need someone who can design clusters but needs an understanding
- Someone who has architected and implemented on enterprise level would understand how it works
Feedback: the challenge from an SA perspective is that we’re looking for folks who can get their hands dirty and know the deeper details of IT solutions and how they meet requirements —most of the folks we’ve interviewed have been very high level and strong technical writers, but not really carrying the understanding of the solution itself.
Someone who has a strong developer/system integrator background who can go in and assess problems, is curious and takes a hands-on approach to testing out the tool and see how they integrate and design a solution. Someone who can dig into a product v.S. Being very high level and rely on team for direction –development background who can bridge engineering and architecture experience.
Team profiles don’t all come from banking –they are not customer facing, more infrastructure/tooling group;variety of backgrounds;back-end Dev Ops focused v.S. Full-stack/ banking apps

Candidate Review & Selection
2-3 Rounds –MS Teams Video Interviews –all panels
1st –30 minutes-45 minutes –panel of project team members (HM, technical resources) –initial assessment with senior team membership to assess fit.
2nd –45 minutes - follow-up interview with technical team members probing on technical expertise and project experience
Potential - 3rd if needed to decide between candidates
