Job Description

What is the opportunity?

This role will be a member of the Business Performance, Analytics, & Insights COE for Commercial Banking. The incumbent will support routines managing Commercial Banking business performance such as MBRs, QBRs, and BPRs in addition to delivering impactful data driven insights and recommendations through ad-hoc analytics projects. RBC Commercial Banking is a high growth rapidly evolving platform which requires the incumbent to be able to think fast, strategize in-depth, and proactively drive initiatives to conclusion with business partners.

What will you do:

  • Support the development and enhancement of management reporting packages such as MBRs, QBRs, BPRs. Simplify delivery process through automation, improve the effectiveness of reports through thoughtful visualizations and presentations, and provide actionable insights to senior executives.

  • Assist in ad-hoc analytics projects involving large and complex datasets to derive business insights and facilitate business decision making. Participate in data exploration on commercial banking products to drive new client acquisitions and deepen client relationships.

  • Partner with strategy teams to generate deep dive analysis required to develop growth strategy for key sectors such as Agriculture, Franchise, Supply Chain, and International Businesses.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Banking data and technology teams and other data & analytics teams across RBC to develop data strategy, mature data collection capabilities, and enhance technology infrastructure.

  • Evangelize the use of data within business management practices through comprehensive reporting, advanced analytics, and predictive modelling.

Must-haves:

  • 2-4 years of direct experience in analytics or quantitative strategy supporting areas such as credit strategy, client acquisitions, deposits, or treasury.

  • Strong technical skills in manipulating data via tools such as SAS, SQL, Teradata, Python, Tableau

  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical exercises to communicate insights in an audience friendly manner

  • Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

  • One RBC mentality, willingness to take on whatever is required to elevate the business

Nice to have:

  • Experience with commercial banking

  • Experience building financial models and valuations
