Job Description

Deliverables:

• The Resources will act as a subject matter experts on a variety of datacenter networks and cloud projects initiatives such as:
• Enabling and supporting the day to day operations of the Government of Ontario's datacenters (GDC, Colo3 and Business Connect), cloud providers (Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Disaster Recovery and Google clouds).
• Designing configuring advance security for existing Applications Hosting environment on premises and new cloud providers.
• Assist with complex migration from on premise to the public cloud providers.
• Assist in developing operational procedures and sustaining the Government Cloud offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Improve and support the day-to-day operations of AHS and Cloud applications (ex: patching, monitoring, etc.).
• Integrate and secure cloud services for applications
• Provide Operational Support for Networking/Security for GDC/Colo3, Business Connect/OPCS/Perimeter Firewalls for Azure, AWS and Oracle Cloud.
• Daily operational changes, Incident/problem management.
• Provide on call/standby support when required.
• Closure of tickets in a timely manner, Keeping clients/management up to date on ticket status.
• Must adhere to Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics, device maintenance.
• Provide technical MoP for all changes.
• Ability to provide acquire network captures and articulate/document capture and point or root cause.
• Ability to work on Network/Security Project Initiatives along with all keep the lights on (KTLO) activities.

Current project initiatives:

• ENA Service migration to new B2B services – approx. 290 sites
• GDC floor Consolidation
• Cisco Access Switch refresh – 14 devices
• CheckPoint Firewall refresh – 16 devices
• Provide stand-by support for regular and after-hours.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

Must Haves:

• Demonstrated 10+ years’ experience at an Enterprise level in a technical or business capacity with experience in n-Tiered Data Centre Networks and Tier-IV Data Centre environments
• Experience with Networking (Cisco - Switching, Routing, Load Balancing - F5) and Security (Firewalls - Checkpoint, Palo Alto and Cisco FTD).
• Support the day to day operations of the Government of Ontario's datacenters (GDC, Colo3 and Business Connect), cloud providers (Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Disaster Recovery and Google clouds).

Skill Set Requirements:

Experience working at an Enterprise level in a technical or business capacity with experience in n-Tiered Data Centre Networks and Tier-IV Data Centre environments:

• Demonstrated 10+ years’ experience.

Communications:

• Experience interacting with internal/external stakeholders, explaining technical issues clearly and providing technical documentation

Knowledge:

• Well versed in the Networking (Cisco - Switching, Routing, Load Balancing - F5) and Security (Firewalls - Checkpoint, Palo Alto and Cisco FTD).

• Experience with Cloud integration Support
• Experience in the OPS
