Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
The candidate should bring deep knowledge in banking, payments, and cloud transformation, demonstrated through successful delivery of ISO
-compliant APIs and fraud detection integrations on AWS. Given the complexity of integrating on-prem and cloud systems, as well as ensuring security and regulatory compliance, the role demands a highly skilled resource with both technical depth and domain expertise.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
. Lead cloud migration engagements, ensuring successful transition of applications from on-prem to AWS
. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across multiple teams
. Oversee integration with upstream and downstream systems, including third-party application
. Ensure compliance with cloud governance, resiliency, and risk management frameworks.
. Drive delivery excellence by applying Agile practices and continuous improvement principle
. Partner with client architects and delivery teams to define cloud migration strategies, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting.
. Provide technical leadership across multiple workstreams, including infrastructure, application, and data modernization.
. Work closely with development teams to establish best practices for serverless, containerized, and microservices-based applications.
. Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and environment automation.
. Perform architecture reviews, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend AWS-native solutions to enhance scalability and cost efficiency.
. Support technical due diligence, cost modeling, and proposal development for new cloud opportunities.
. Mentor development and operations teams in AWS architecture principles and cloud best practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 10–12 years of experience in program or senior project management within financial services or large enterprise environments.
. Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stream transformation programs.
. Strong understanding of banking products, preferably mortgages or home lending.
Proven experience managing large-scale AWS programs or cloud transformation initiatives.
.Strong understanding of AWS cloud concepts and services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda) to effectively partner with technical teams.
.Experience leading cloud migration programs (on-premises to AWS), including re-hosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting strategies.
.Excellent program and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, dependency management, risk tracking, and issue resolution.
.Ability to manage multiple workstreams across infrastructure, application, security, and data teams.
. Strong experience with Agile and hybrid delivery models (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Waterfall as needed).
