As a Business Analyst II, you will be at the forefront of managing the technology and data that drives key legal, regulatory, and compliance decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for legal technology, data management, governance, and analytics, who want to make a significant impact within a major financial institution in North America. This role is not advisory—you will be accountable for ensuring that the technology and data we use every day to make legal, financial, and risk decisions is accurate, complete, and trusted.
- Understand the Business Mandate
:
Collaborate with legal professionals and other key stakeholders to understand our business domains that support the department’s goals and align with the bank’s overall business, technology, data, security, and regulatory objectives. - Business Analysis
:
Understand the best practice of business analysis and how to drive the business needs into measurable and executable business requirements. - Collaboration
:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Control Partners, and Operations, to ensure seamless integration of data management practices within the bank’s broader infrastructure. - Innovation
:
Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and methodologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal department’s operations. - Business Application and Data Management Support
:
Provide support and best practice to legal professionals on business application and data management processes, fostering a data‑driven culture within the department. - Risk Management
:
Monitor and manage technology and data related risks, ensuring that the Legal department adheres to all relevant data governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. A bachelor’s degree in data management, Information Technology (IT) Management, Computer Science, or a related field will be an asset.
- 3‑5+ years’ experience in supporting business applications, acceptance testing, business and data management within a North American financial services setting.
- Ability to navigate and translate complex business and technology issues into business terms and traceable business requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with North American legal or regulatory environments is an asset but not required.
- Business Analysis Certification is an asset but not required.
- A mindset of ownership, accountability, and business impact.
