Job Description – SAP Basis Administrator
The SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security of business-critical SAP systems across the global organization. This role involves the installation, configuration, administration, and support of SAP landscapes in a private cloud environment as well as integration with non‑SAP systems. The administrator will work closely with cross‑functional IT teams and the SAP RISE service provider to maintain high system uptime and deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design, install, configure, and administer SAP systems and databases in a private cloud SAP RISE with IBM Cloud.
Manage and support SAP S4 HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP POPI, SAP BTP, Disclosure Management, DM SAP Business Objects BOBJAFO GRC MDG, and BPC environments.
Administer transport management, SAP Basis standard jobs, print management, and batch job scheduling with Opswise.
Deep knowledge of computer networks, firewall, port, etc.
Perform system integrations, migrations, refreshes, and client copies.
Implement and manage SAP Router setup, SSO configuration, and secure connectivity between workstations and SAP systems.
Configure cloud‑to‑cloud connectivity and integration with non‑SAP systems such as Esker, ZipHQ, Concur.
Perform upgrade impact analysis and execute system application upgrades for S4 HANA, BOBJAFO, DM, and PIPO.
Apply SAP core patches, security patches, and address SAP‑released vulnerabilities.
Manage certificates, renewals, and ensure compliance with security standards.
Collaborate with SAP RISE team to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
Monitor and optimize system performance including SAPHANA OS memory management.
Troubleshoot complex issues such as lockouts, work‑process failures, job terminations, and network/application performance problems.
Conduct performance analysis and tuning for all SAP systems.
Administer Solution Manager including ChaRM and CTS for change and transport management.
Maintain accurate technical documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Liaise with other IT teams to analyze and resolve cross‑platform issues.
Manage projects ensuring deliverables are met within deadlines.
Qualifications
Proven hands‑on experience administering SAP Basis in a private cloud S4 HANA environment.
Strong knowledge of SAP modules: S4 HANA, Fiori, POPI, BTP, DM, BOBJAFO, GRC, MDG, and BPC.
Experience with SAP RISE operations and collaboration with managed service providers.
Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration, including agent installations, Opswise print servers, and central file servers.
Experience with database administration (SAP HANA preferred).
Familiarity with SLD administration and archiving of technical objects.
Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to troubleshoot complex SAP system issues across application, database, and network layers.
Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Certifications
SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S4 HANA System Administration.
Compensation
The base compensation range for this role is USD $120,000 to $140,000 per annum. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
