Summary:The Senior SAP ETL Developer will lead the integration of SAP ECC and SAP S/4 HANA data into a cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This role combines deep SAP expertise with advanced ETL and cloud-native data engineering skills to build scalable pipelines for analytics, reporting, and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP Data Integration (70%)

Design and implement ETL pipelines from SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, BW, and Datasphere to Microsoft Fabric.

Use tools like BODS, ABAP extracts, CDS views, ODP, RFCs, and BAPIs.

Integrate non-SAP sources (e.g., JD Edwards) into a unified platform.

Ensure data quality, security, and alignment with business needs.

Review ABAP logic and legacy transformation rules.

Support historical reporting and semantic modeling via HANA and BW.

Document processes and improve integration frameworks.

Cloud ETL & Data Engineering (30%)

Build transformations in SQL, Python, and PySpark within Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Synapse).

Optimize performance, cost, and security in cloud environments.

Design canonical models and ensure downstream usability (e.g., Power BI).

Governance & Collaboration

Enforce data quality and governance standards.

Collaborate with architects, analysts, and ERP admins to gather requirements.

Provide technical guidance on SAP data and enterprise modeling.

Required Skills & Experience

10–15 years of IT experience, 8+ in SAP (ECC, S/4 HANA).

Strong in SAP modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production).

Experience with BODS, ABAP, SAP Datasphere, and CDC tools (Theobald, DAB).

Proficient in SQL, ETL tools (ADF, Informatica, Alteryx), and cloud data platforms.

Skilled in data modeling (Kimball, star schema) and large-scale pipeline design.

Knowledge of data privacy regulations and PII handling.

Preferred Qualifications

SAP certifications (S/4 HANA, Datasphere).

Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and PySpark.

Background in delivering data solutions for finance, supply chain, or sales.
