Digital Architect

Digital Architect We are seeking an experienced Digital Architect to support service innovation, program review, and digital transformation initiatives across multiple enterprise programs. The Digital Architect will work as part of cross‑functional product delivery or program review teams, collaborating closely with product owners, designers, developers, and stakeholders.

These teams operate in an agile, iterative environment, collectively participating in activities such as user and field research, backlog definition and refinement, sprint planning, and delivery execution.

Digital transformation initiatives focus on reviewing current‑state services, identifying future opportunities, and delivering new or enhanced digital services that are efficient, effective, affordable, and user‑centric.

The Digital Architect provides architectural leadership and strategic guidance, ensuring digital services align with a shared architectural vision while supporting the iterative delivery of complete, high‑quality digital solutions.

Role Summary

The Digital Architect is responsible for overseeing the software architecture of digital services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, technical best practices, and long‑term platform strategies.

This role blends hands‑on technical expertise, architectural leadership, and business acumen. The Digital Architect guides teams in balancing feature delivery with technical sustainability and may contribute directly to development when required.

Scope of Services

Full‑time engagement across one (1) to two (2) concurrent projects

Contract term: 12 months, with potential extensions up to 24 additional months

Expected annual effort: up to 1,960 hours (subject to project needs)

Work schedule, location, and frequency may vary depending on project requirements

Deliverables evolve iteratively based on user needs, business priorities, and technical opportunities.

• Solution Architecture Leadership: Lead the architecture of digital services using agile, user‑centered design principles
• Develop and maintain the overall solution architecture plan
• Analyze and document existing system context and dependencies
• Conduct technical discovery and feasibility assessments
• Create architectural recommendations, prototypes, and solution options
• Ensure designs support iterative implementation
• Identify and assess architectural risks, impacts, and exposures
• Implementation Guidance & Delivery Support: Guide teams to deliver working digital products frequently and incrementally
• Define integration approaches, system boundaries, and interaction patterns
• Identify opportunities to reuse shared components, platforms, and capabilities
• Encourage collaboration across teams to leverage existing digital services
• Review and guide detailed technical designs
• Review code changes to ensure architectural integrity
• Contribute directly to development when needed to support delivery
• Coach and mentor team members on architecture and engineering best practices
• Strategic & Practice Contributions: Contribute to a shared architectural vision for a scalable, user‑centric digital platform
• Support the development of architecture principles, standards, metrics, and quality guidelines
• Communicate architecture concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Produce clear documentation, diagrams, and presentations tailored to stakeholder needs
• Participate in the continuous improvement of architecture practices and ways of working

  Skills & Experience:
  
  Strong experience in software architecture for digital services
• Proven experience working in agile / product delivery environments
• Deep understanding of modern application architectures, integrations, and platforms
• Hands‑on experience with contemporary development technologies and frameworks
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business and delivery priorities
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
• Experience coaching and mentoring cross‑functional teams

• Experience working on large‑scale or enterprise digital transformation initiatives
• Experience contributing to shared platforms or reusable service architectures
