What to expect:

The Business/Systems Analyst role will help bridge the gap between business objectives and technology solutions through gathering, analyzing, and validating business requirements using various methods including development of prototypes. This role will also help keep projects on track through creating project plans, monitoring progress against timelines and budgets, managing stakeholders, and ensuring the final solution meets business requirements. This includes playing a pivotal role in ensuring that our IT systems and software applications meet the evolving needs of our organization.

This includes:

Requirements Elicitation & Analysis:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various business units (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations) to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements using various techniques, including interviews, workshops, and document analysis.

Prototyping & Solution Design:

  • Rapid Prototyping:
Design and develop high-quality, interactive web prototypes (ranging from low-fidelity wireframes/flow diagrams to functional prototypes) to test concepts, features, and user flows
  • Facilitate feedback sessions using these prototypes to validate requirements, identify requirement gaps, misunderstandings, and ambiguities, and refine designs iteratively based on user testing and analysis.
  • Translate prototype materials into clear, detailed technical specifications for the development.

Project Management:

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets. Lead project teams, define roles, and ensure clear communication.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Manage project scope to prevent "scope creep".
  • Track milestones and deliverables.

Process Modeling:

  • Evaluate current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and model future states using tools like Microsoft Visio or other process modeling software

Documentation:

  • Write and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRD), System Requirements Specifications (SRS), functional specifications, use cases, and user manuals.
  • Act as the primary communication channel between business stakeholders and technical teams (developers, QA, project managers) to ensure a shared understanding and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Define user acceptance test (UAT) criteria, assist in test case creation, and coordinate/facilitate UAT to ensure the final solution meets all specified requirements.

Implementation & Change Management:

  • Support the deployment of new systems, help plan and execute implementation, and assist with end-user training and communication to ensure a smooth transition.
