Description
Reporting to the Senior Systems Integrator, Business Intelligence (BI) & Data Services, the Systems Integrator 1 (Data Warehouse Admin) will provide expertise and advice related to the Data Warehouse environment sustainment, configuration, support and maintain implemented ETL solutions and databases for Toronto Public Health information technology systems and solutions. The role includes leading planning, documentation, and ongoing support activities for software systems, focusing on Data Warehouse sustainment, software deployment and administration, automation scripting, patching, procedure updates and service delivery improvements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to collaborate with business, TPH IT and Corporate IT partners while adhering to TPH and City of Toronto policies.
- Plan, support and implement Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) applications, OBIEE, Map viewer, Oracle Web Logic server, ODI and data integration via ETL for all stages (Development, Test/UAT, Production).
- Use Oracle OBIEE repository (RPD) to create, customize and maintain presentation layers, business subject areas, folders, and analytical facilities for end users while controlling access.
- Analyze and develop standard and ad‑hoc/big data reports using Oracle tools.
- Evaluate performance, system logs, install and configure multi‑tiered Oracle Application Server (OAS), OBIEE and ODI environments on Linux.
- Identify risks and prepare action plans to mitigate.
- Coordinate with internal and external groups/vendors on deliverable completion.
- Prepare and present status reports of DW environments and explain variances, issues, projects or work packages.
- Document findings and lessons learned from post‑implementation reviews, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
- Assess, analyze, evaluate and recommend process and policy alternatives for BI & DW projects and work packages.
- Assist in preparing DW logical data models and design documents for proposed solutions leveraging existing DW Start Schema.
- Update and maintain data warehouse databases and models using data‑modelling tools, ensuring data integrity and validation rules in ETLs.
- Provide input to BI & DW development team on transformation of client business requirements.
- Recommend improvements to current methodology, process, standards and policies.
- Assist staff in development implementation for OBIEE, ODI and repository (RPD) using MUD (multi‑user development) environment.
- Collaborate with staff on test strategy, test cases and test scripts for system performance, usability and acceptance testing.
- Lead team in drafting implementation and rollout strategies and plans.
- Conduct walkthroughs of deliverables to identify potential problems.
- Prepare training material and documentation for end users and staff.
- Collaborate with clients on “Go/No Go” cut‑over decisions, e.g., rollouts.
- University degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Extensive experience in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) or Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) administration, performance monitoring/tuning, managing Oracle Web Logic in a multi‑tier high‑availability architecture.
- Considerable experience in OBI administration, RPD and OBIEE security setup including LDAP (e‑Directory, MSAD) integration.
- Considerable experience with Oracle database (OLTP and OLAP) administration, expert usage and shell scripts.
- Technical knowledge for Oracle BI, ODI and J2EE/Web Logic applications and security components.
