BI Developer

Your Opportunity

The BI Developer role is built on a foundation of advanced database development, data warehousing philosophies, and business intelligence tools. As a core member of the Stantec BI Solutions team, you will support an enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence platform, translating business needs into intelligence solutions through dimensional data modeling, SQL, and report development.

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain catalog objects that support business informational requirements.
• Develop and maintain reporting standards and documentation for business intelligence solutions.
• Translate stakeholder business requirements into technical report and dashboard solutions using Oracle Analytics Server, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and Oracle BI Publisher.
• Perform unit and integrated testing for BI solutions and document test results.
• Collaborate closely with IT and business stakeholders to implement new reports and enhancements, ensuring integration with overall enterprise architecture.
• Advise on planning, coordination, and communication of BI initiatives.

• Engage cross‑functional teams (Finance, HR, Projects, etc.) to enhance understanding of BI subject areas.
• Analyze and troubleshoot data issues by collaborating with the Support Management team.
• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding BI subject area capabilities and presentation layer usage.

• Enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and implementing application roles or OID groups to control dashboard access.

• Identify opportunities to improve or extend BI frameworks and standards.
• Participate in technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Enforce programming policies and quality assurance best practices in business intelligence.

• Deep understanding of data analysis, data visualization, data warehouse design, and ETL frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications using BI tools (Oracle BI Answers/Tableau/Qlik Sense/Qlik View/Power BI).
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server).
• Ability to deliver high‑quality results and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Oracle Analytics (OAS/OAC).
• Experience with OBIA Analytics modules and Oracle EBS integration is an advantage.
