We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team. In this full-time role, you will be an integral member responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting our mission-critical network infrastructure with a focus on Cisco ACI, cloud networking, and automation.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with hands-on experience in data center technologies, firewalls, load balancers, and network automation. This role requires a solid background in Multicast, Fortigate firewalls, and F5 LTM, along with a desire to grow your skills in using code to build and manage robust networks. You will support our next-generation infrastructure and will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure the stability of our critical applications.
Reports to: Senior Manager, Network Engineering
Work arrangement: This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities:
- Network Implementation & Support:
Configure, implement, and support core network components, including Cisco ACI fabric, multicast routing, and wireless infrastructure. - Security & Load Balancing:
Manage and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls and F5 LTM policies to ensure the security and high availability of our applications. - Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC):
Use modern automation tools like Ansible and Terraform to build and manage on-premises and cloud network infrastructure. - Scripting:
Utilize scripting languages, such as Python, to automate routine network tasks and improve operational efficiency. - Cloud Networking:
Implement and manage network infrastructure within major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including the configuration of Transit Gateways (TGW), Direct Connect Gateways (DXGW), and Virtual Private Gateways (VGW). - Project Contribution & Documentation:
Contribute to network projects by executing implementation plans and creating detailed documentation and network diagrams. - Troubleshooting & Operations:
Act as a key resource for resolving network incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventative measures. - On-Call Support:
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical workloads.
Must Have(s):
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a network engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, including fabric policies, contracts, and VMM integration.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud networking (VPC/VNet, security groups, routing, etc.).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and automation tools (Ansible).
- Practical scripting experience with Python.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls (Fortigate preferred), and VPNs in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Experience with campus networking, including wireless and Catalyst switches.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with proficiency in tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
Nice to Have(s):
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE or Fortinet NSE 4+ certification (or actively working towards).
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate).
- Experience with container networking (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and tools (e.g., Git Hub, Jenkins).
- Experience with F5 LTM/APM and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations.
