Reporting to the Director of IT, the Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for deploying and implementing a new Document Management System (DMS) in SharePoint Online as well as providing technical support for the Office 365 and SharePoint environment. The successful candidate will strive to understand Connexall’s digital documentation business requirements and provide support for our business processes based on the rules, roles, and circulation of documents.

They will lead the deployment of new internal SharePoint sites (Teams/Intranet) and implement a SharePoint Governance Plan and Strategy. The candidate will also have responsibilities in the overall Office 365 administration by supporting and configuring Office 365 applications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct meetings outlining status, milestones, and requirements for deploying the SharePoint Online Document Management System (DMS).
  • Create new SharePoint sites, Teams sites, lists, document libraries, and content including pages, workflows, items and maintain enterprise taxonomy, terms, and keywords for the term store.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of relevant training and support for SharePoint end-users, super users, site owners, and administrators.
  • Proactively secure and protect the SharePoint environment from internal and external threats through comprehensive permissions management, auditing, reporting, and enforcement of governance policies.
  • Identify and report governance violations using DLP and IRM configurations.
  • Ensure the operational health of the Office 365 and SharePoint Online environments, including user access security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability.
  • Design, configure, manage, and maintain comprehensive site collection, site-level, and list-level usage reports and usability analyses.
  • Ensure employees receive adequate training and understanding of Office 365 applications and SharePoint Online by conducting orientations for new hires, organizing one-on-one sessions to address specific issues, updating staff on new features, and creating organization-specific training documentation.
  • Administer Office 365 and provide training and expertise on collaboration tools such as Teams, Planner, Stream, and One Drive as part of daily operations.
  • Develop, test, and implement new features in Office 365 products and services.
  • Provide weekly status reports on Office 365 and SharePoint-related tasks and activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required.
  • 3–5+ years administering Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online in medium-to-large enterprise environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, site design/templates, lists/libraries/Content Types, search and permissions model.
  • Experience with SharePoint migration tools (Share Gate, Metalogix, Mover, etc.) and migration planning.
  • Solid understanding of security, compliance and information governance (DLP, Sensitivity and retention labels, eDiscovery).
  • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and basic SPFx/customization concepts.
  • Must possess proficient front end/CSS skills and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of managed metadata and taxonomy best practices.
  • Practical expertise in SharePoint Search Service, User Profile Service, and other Service Applications.
  • Must possess at least one of the following Microsoft Certificates:
  • Microsoft 365 Certified:
    Enterprise Administrator Expert and/or Microsoft 365 Certified:
    Security Administrator Associate (MS-500).
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300).
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) — Foundational.
  • SC-400 Information Protection Administrator.
  • Legacy certifications:
    Office 365 Administrator Certification, SharePoint Configuration, Deploying Microsoft 365 Teamwork.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the desire to continuously learn and expand knowledge.
  • Team player with a positive attitude; capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
