The opportunity

The Senior Manager, Leadership & Learning will play a critical role in shaping and executing OTPP’s talent strategy for the Investments division globally, while also supporting enterprise-wide Talent Management practices. This role provides strategic talent advisory services, facilitates bespoke leadership and learning solutions, and ensures robust succession planning and talent management to drive business performance and advance enterprise priorities.

Who you'll work with

The Senior Manager, Leadership & Learning will report to the Managing Director, Talent & Leadership. In this role, you will partner closely across the Talent COE, Global Business Partner – Investments, other Centres of Excellence, and senior leaders as needed. You will collaborate with both external vendors and internal stakeholders to design and deliver tailored talent and leadership programs.

You will maintain a strong partnership with the Managing Director, Talent & Leadership to support enterprise Talent Review, and work closely with the Director, Talent & Leadership to ensure appropriate resourcing and alignment. You will also build a deep partnership with the MD, Business Partner – Investments team to execute strategic priorities and advise senior leaders on critical talent decisions.

What you'll do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to P&C Business Partners and senior leaders to identify, assess and diagnose challenges and opportunities across talent, leadership and learning to drive performance primarily for the Investments Division.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on talent management for the fund- including talent reviews, succession planning, assessment, career pathing/internal mobility – and translate complex talent insights into actionable recommendations, enabling informed decision-making.

  • Actively scan and share leading practices and provide thought leadership on inclusive talent strategies, leveraging internal and external best practices to inform enterprise or bespoke talent decisions.

  • Co-create solutions (as needed) that balance enterprise frameworks with divisional needs, ensuring scalability and impact.

  • Facilitate bespoke talent and leadership programs and team-based interventions as required to enhance performance and cohesion.

  • Serve as a connector between COEs, Business Partners, and external providers to orchestrate integrated talent offerings that drive business outcomes.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to matrix reports (Managerand Coordinator pool) to facilitate execution of Talent strategy, technology and related priorities.

  • Partner with the Director, Leadership & Learning to ensure alignment of Investments talent strategies to broader Leadership & Executive Development as well as enterprise Learning strategies, tools and processes.

  • Partner with Director, Talent Acquisition & DEI to embed inclusive practices and recruitment education. Provide psychometric assessment support for recruitment of senior leaders.

  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of talent and leadership programs using analytics.

  • Provide informal leadership and guidance to talent colleagues; oversee project teams/pods and external vendors as required. Coach and mentor leaders to build capability and strengthen leadership pipelines.

  • Manage budgets and resource allocation for Investments-specific talent initiatives.

  • Operate autonomously within the COE model to deliver strategic priorities and provide strategic advisory support to Global Business Partners in service of the Investments division.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • What you'll need

  • Master’s degree in Organizational Behaviour, Leadership Development, IO Psychology, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 12–15 years progressive experience in dynamic human resources, talent and/or human capital consulting. Experience supporting investments preferred.

  • Experience developing and running enterprise-wide talent management, succession and related programs.

  • Coaching certification and experience with assessment tools (Success Finder, Hogan, etc.) and skills assessment.

  • Experience conducting and debriefing 360 feedback preferred.
