Under the direction of the Offsite Management team, the Event Supervisor assists in the managing, preparation and set up of the event spaces over Toronto and the GTA and assist with event execution. Event Supervisors will work independently or support the managers and help to oversee the floor during an event, in addition to helping deliver food & beverage to guests, maintaining the cleanliness of the space and focusing on ensuring clients satisfaction.
They monitor food and quality presentation and possess a strong knowledge of event menu items to answer questions and make recommendations when required. The Event Supervisor position is a leadership in training position, where the incumbent would learn how to be an event manager but still be able to work serving/bartender shifts when not needed for managing shifts.
THE DAY TO DAY:
Communicates the vision to all team members and leads by example. Reinforces the O&B values daily and inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the futureSupport the management team in overall event managementLeading a team of servers and bartenders during an event, responding to all concerns and needs as requiredBuilds and maintains relationships with guests, team members and senior management alikeShows leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoymentUses conflict/resolution and problem-solving skillsAssist in the preparation, setup and maintenance of event spacesPossess a strong knowledge of event menu itemsFollows bar, beverage and wine control procedures exactlyRespond promptly to guest requests in a timely, professional and efficient mannerDeliver food & beverage to the appropriate tables as directed by the Management teamClear plates, cutlery and glasses from the tables and return them to the dish areaMonitor food quality and presentation standardsRegularly monitors and achieves the O&B points of technical service and points of detailsAdhere to all O&B health and safety standardsAdditional duties as assigned or requiredQualifications
Valid Smart Serve certification requiredProven experience in event service or hospitalityMinimum 1 year supervisor experience in events or hospitalityOrganizational skills and the ability to multi-taskA passion for guest service and creating memorable momentsStrong leadership and management skillsAbility to remain composed under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environmentsAvailability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to life 30lbsLegally eligible to work in Canada
