Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations (abdominal, pelvic and superficial soft tissue masses) while observing patient safety practices. The successful candidate may also be trained and required to perform small test assessments (vision, audiometry and spirometry). You will also liaise with other clinic staff, physicians and administrators to ensure effective delivery of our services.
This is a casual position and hours will vary depending on the clinic’s needs.

- Receive and complete requisitions, enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system and prepare patients for specific procedures
- Gather and verify patient history and relevant information prior to beginning scan
- Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines and TELUS’s policies
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed for each scan
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of PACS
- Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized and safe workspace
- Comply with patient safety and confidentiality policies
- Perform related clinical and administrative duties as necessary
- Perform small tests (vision, audiometry, and spirometry) as necessary and when time allows
- Completion of a recognized post-diploma sonography program, or equivalent
- Minimum - 2 years of experience with abdominal and pelvic ultrasound examinations
- Successfully registered with the CMRITO
- Current Sonography Canada registration in good standing
- CPR and WHMIS certification(s) would be considered an asset
- Previous experience with PACS, Esaote and GE ultrasound equipment is beneficial
- Effective decision making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a dynamic team
- Commitment to providing high quality patient care and customer service is essential
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and ability to work well under pressure
