The Precision Child Health (PCH) movement at Sick Kids is a transformative approach to healthcare that supports the tailoring of medical care to the unique characteristics of each child. This includes considering genetic, physiological, medical, and social determinants of health data, as well as patient and family preferences, to build a comprehensive understanding of the whole child. The goal is to change the way diseases are predicted, prevented, diagnosed, and treated, ultimately achieving unprecedented health outcomes.
A key enabler to the success of the PCH movement is advancing a learning health ecosystem where patients and families can inform, participate in, and benefit from discovery, translation, and clinical research as part of their care.
