Overview
Integrated Care Solutions NRIO, a division of Bayshore Health Care, offers community-minded, progressive brain injury rehabilitation in a variety of environments. We customize treatment programs in 24-hour residential treatment, supported living, community programs, and therapeutic day programs. We use a person- and family-centered care (PFCC) approach, recognizing the importance of family involvement in planning and decisions about health care, services and treatment.
Position:
Rehabilitation Therapist (Part-Time) – Etobicoke Residential Rehabilitation site and community-based work in the GTA. You will supervise and support individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABIs) and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver daily functional rehab and meaningful activities. Goals include increasing independence, community reintegration, social participation, and avocational/volunteer activities.
- Provide supervision and support to individuals with acquired brain injuries in a group-home setting and within the community.
- Deliver and follow a designed rehabilitation program, aiming to increase independence and meaningful participation in daily activities.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, medication management, and transfer tasks.
- Accompany clients on community outings as needed, using external transport services or own vehicle.
- Utilize Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies as appropriate.
- Collect required clinical data through documentation and data tracking.
- Contribute to program development and perform other clinical/administrative duties as assigned.
- Provide flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, overnights, and occasional holidays.
- Post-secondary studies in social sciences or healthcare-related areas.
- G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract; access to a vehicle and appropriate insurance to transport clients in own vehicle is required.
- Availability to work on weekends, days, evenings, occasional overnights, and some holidays.
- Part-time position with hours fluctuating according to client census.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictions.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; ability to manage challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, elopement, inappropriate conduct).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, light cleaning, advocacy, and therapy implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability for bending, stretching, and lifting.
- Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with computers and secure email systems.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Work with individuals with ABIs to increase independence through individualized rehabilitation programs (responsible for up to 5 clients at a time).
- Complete documentation following company and provincial guidelines.
- Follow the designed rehabilitation program as directed.
- Assist clients with ADLs; personal care, medication management, and transfer tasks.
- Accompany clients on community outings as needed via external transport services or own vehicle.
- Apply appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies.
- Collect required clinical data through documentation and tracking.
- Complete research to enhance client programs.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
- Provide flexible availability (evenings, weekends, overnights, occasional holidays).
