Aecon Foundations is a leader in the Canadian foundations industry, offering services from shoring systems to foundation piling across all sectors. The Safety Advisor will actively promote a health, safety, and environmental culture at all levels of employees with the policies and procedures of Aecon’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manual. This role supports our Aecon Foundations division located in Toronto, Ontario.

• Conduct safety orientation for workers, owners, and clients.
• Train employees on the Aecon Health, Safety and Environmental Manual.
• Coordinate or deliver training for employees on topics such as fall protection, confined space entry, WHMIS, respiratory protection, and emergency response.
• Conduct workplace inspections, behavior‑based observations, and audits.
• Update Material Safety Data Sheets as required.
• Develop worksite safety plans, including emergency plans, environmental plans, and site safety plans.
• Distribute safety materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Deliver safety presentations to clients.
• Promote the Aecon safety system to potential industry clients.
• Conduct studies and analyze EHS data trends.
• Recommend and monitor corrective actions.
• Assist with workers’ compensation claims.
• Develop return‑to‑work and modified work programs.
• Investigate incidents.
• Mediate health and safety issues for resolution.
• Liaise with government agencies as required.
• Prepare and assist with external safety audits.
• Coordinate environmental issues.
• Gather and provide EHS‑based statistics.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role.
• Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) and/or Certificate of Recognition (COR) Auditor preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with tact and diplomacy.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent meeting and training facilitation skills.
• Adaptable and flexible to an ever‑changing environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Mobility essential; able to work on various project locations across Canada, often remote.

Pay range: $80,000 – $100,000 (determined based on location, education, experience, certifications, and job conditions).
