Enabling Healthcare Across Networks of Central East (ENHANCE) Ontario (also referred to here as “EO”) is a not-for-profit corporate entity which will provide centralized IT services to its seven member hospitals to manage and operate a set of shared digital assets. This will enable its member hospitals across 14 sites to deliver high quality and safe patient care using the shared Epic Clinical Information System (CIS) to over 1.5 million patients in the Central East region of Ontario.
ENHANCE Ontario Senior Technical Specialist – Cupid Team
Position Overview:
Epic Technical and Senior Technical Specialists are responsible for ongoing maintenance and operations of their assigned applications including triaging and prioritizing issues, troubleshooting, break-fixes, maintenance, system upgrades and enhancements and optimizations with a goal to continue to enable workflows in the relevant clinical areas. This role will also act as a secondary support contact for the application’s end users.
- Responsible for independently evaluating systems, analyzing complex issues and problems, troubleshooting, resolving break fixes and testing resolutions with application teams
- Provides ongoing maintenance and support for assigned applications with little to no assistance
- Participates and leads testing of application updates, enhancements, custom programming and new releases/quarterly upgrades
- Support operational committees and working groups with workflow design/optimization decision-making by highlighting system capabilities, limitations, risks etc.
- Work with Principal Trainers to maintain training materials and content in sync with build updates
- In collaboration with Principal Trainer, analysts will support application’s end-users
- Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
- Previous build or operations experience with Epic® preferred and experience with Radiant, Cupid or OpTime considered an asset
- Epic certification in any clinical application preferred or must complete relevant certification within 3 months of hire
- Strong working knowledge of clinical systems and administrative departments, operations and imaging process/workflows would be an asset
- An understanding of clinical workflows
- Ability to identify and communicate operational issues and drive the resolution of issues in an effective manner which also ensures high end user satisfaction
- Ability to handle complex problems and provide highly innovative and creative solutions that will achieve high quality business/clinical outcomes
- Strong understanding of workflows and procedures related to Analyst’s relevant clinical area
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to logically examine a problem and determine the root cause and course of action
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to learn new software, systems, and processes
- Highly reliable, able to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles and work under time pressures
