  • Salary Range: $30.04 - $45.06 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Learner Education, the Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing and administrating the postgraduate medical education programs. This role provides support to and has responsibility to the Postgraduate Medical Education Director as well as the Wightman-Berris Academy Director. Works with academic partners, internal staff and program leadership, and provides exceptional customer service to learners coming to UHN for clinical placements/rotations.
  • This position may involve working on special projects, innovative education support initiatives and other medical education and student services duties as assigned.
  • Cross-functional support for learners outside postgraduate medical education will be required.
  • Strong preference will be given to applicants with Medical Education/Student Affairs related experience.
Key Duties
  • Provide administrative support in the department including providing assistance with functions related to Medical Students, Medical Residents, and Clinical Fellows (and other learners at times) at multiple sites
  • Provide assistance with functions related to medical learners at multiple sites; and coordinates day-to-day operations in the department.
  • Provide support with key tasks such as pager administration, call rooms/lounges, reimbursements, data/reports, and general office functions
  • Further, this role will require strong knowledge of all UHN sites, the resources and supports available to learners, knowledge of current trends in healthcare and education, and effective communication to all internal and external parties.
  • General responsibilities also include ensuring teaching facilities are appropriately set up for education sessions; supporting learner events; arranging meetings; minute taking; database maintenance; maintaining electronic calendar and schedules; and representation of committees related the portfolio.
Qualifications
  • A college diploma or university degree (preferred) with relevant work experience
  • Experience working within health care and education, preferably in a hospital environment
  • Strong teamwork skills and works well in a team setting
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Well developed interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exemplary customer services skills with excellent planning, writing, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Ability to identify opportunities to change or improve processes to optimize the learner experience
  • Strong computer skills;
    Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, while being adaptable and flexible
