The Project Lead will lead collaboration cross-functionally to support CIHI’s Indigenous Health Strategy. Reporting to the Manager of Indigenous Health, the Project Lead will lead, coordinate and implement priority activities in CIHI’s Indigenous Health Strategy, with a focus on capacity building initiatives to support First Nations, Inuit, and Métis health data priorities.
What you’ll do- In consultation with the Manager, plans, leads and executes ongoing engagement with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners to ensure information and reporting needs are identified. This includes coordinating meetings, identifying information requirements and collaborating internally to develop information solutions.
- Leads the development of education and promotional material for a wide range of partners including user manuals, guides, video tutorials, e-learning and other instructional documentation, Web Ex’s, newsletters, supporting reports, written materials and presentations and review written products for accuracy and quality.
- Leads and supports strategic activities within CIHI’s Indigenous Health Strategy:
- Capacity building initiatives with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners (e.g., supporting Indigenous data requests and capacity building activities)
- Engagement with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis organizations (e.g., builds and maintains relationships through meetings with Indigenous organizations)
- Respectful governance of Indigenous-identifiable data (e.g., that strengthens CIHI’s approach to upholding principles of Indigenous Data Sovereignty)
- Provides leadership and guidance to staff. Coaches, coordinates and monitors work, and workload of staff as appropriate.
- Leads cross-functional project teams, as required, including project management related activities (e.g., project charter, timelines) taking responsibility for ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with project plan.
- Adheres to, and demonstrate compliance with, CIHI’s privacy and security policies and procedures when using CIHI data and information.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of performance measurement/quality improvement and CIHI data sources, analyses, indicators, emerging issues and policy initiatives.
- Participates in the departments operational planning and corporate reporting.
- Participates on external committees and/or represent the Indigenous Health team at conferences and events, as required.
- Maintains knowledge of current and emerging health and data priorities of First Nations, Inuit and Métis governments, communities and organizations.
- Assist in tracking contractor/vendor contracts, invoices and all other related material.
- Undergraduate degree in Indigenous Studies, Population Health, Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Sciences, Public Administration, or other relevant area. Graduate Degree considered an asset.
