OVERVIEW

The Echo Technologist is responsible for processing and testing patients for echocardiogram, doppler, TEE, Stress Echo, Contrast Echo, and Paediatric Echo testing.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited educational program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography.
  • Mandatory membership to CMRITO College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario.
  • Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDCS) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), AND/OR current registration as a Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS) with Sonography Canada.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Certification in IV skills an asset.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years full-time echocardiography lab experience.
  • Good knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrocardiography.
  • Experience with Trans-esophageal Echo, Exercise Echo, and Pediatrics (preferred).
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in providing patient-focused care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Professional and cooperative; mature, reliable, and responsible.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Good work and attendance record required.
